National Qualifications Music ~ National 4 and 5
All schools across Scotland schools are moving to a new curriculum and music at Moffat Academy is no different.
We will now be teaching the National 4 & National 5 courses at S2-S3 instead of Standard grade. There are not too many differences in the content of the course but there is a greater influence on self reflection and achievement. Higher music will also now be offered from S4-S6 with the option to continue onto an Advanced Higher Performing unit. The Higher music course is also in the process of changing and we will know more about the changes from Autumn 2013.
What you need to know
All National courses will be split into four elements- Understanding Music (Listening), Performing Skills, Composing Skills (Inventing) and the Added Value element (the assessment).
