UNDERSTANDING MUSIC (LISTENING)

Higher listening amounts to 35% of your overall grade. This is assessed with a listening paper at the end of the year. The examination paper is made up of a mixture of listening and literacy questions so everyone must have a basic understanding of written music (literacy).

Literacy (Written Music)
- You should already have a basic knowledge of literacy at Intermediate 1/2 (National 4/5) level. Check under the National 5- understanding music tab for revision.

Musictheory.net -- This page has some great help/ tips and questions. However watch out its AMERICAN and they use different names for note values! Proceed with Caution!!
